Richard R. SCHNEIDER

Lifetime Saint Paul Resident Retired Letter Carrier, US Postal Service Age 91, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, March 23rd, 2014. Preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Alwine Rowe Schneider, siblings Alice Johnson, Betty Ferrin and Robert. Served with US Army in Europe during WWII. Carried mail on walking routes in West St. Paul and St. Paul's Westside for 30 years, active in NALC for 50 years. Lifetime member of Trinity/Crown of Life Lutheran Church serving as usher, officer, and board member. Enjoyed his family, cottage at Forest Lake, MN, fishing, and traveling, often visiting family in Seattle. Dick benefited greatly in the past years from his wife Alma's tender and skilled nursing care, allowing him to stay in the Osceola Avenue home he was carried home to as an infant 91 years ago. Survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Alma (nee Jensen); daughters Carol (Edward Corker) and Deborah (Randall) Ashby; grandsons, Brian and Nicholas Ashby and Blake Corker; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Memorial Service on Saturday, April 5th, 11am, Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 115 Crusader Ave. W., W. St. Paul, 55118. Family will greet guests one hour prior. Memorials to Crown of Life, Saint Croix Lutheran High School, or Courage Center, Stillwater.
