Dianne PINE Obituary

Song stylist and jazz singer Dianne Lavonne Pine, 68, of Lake Elmo passed away on September 10, 2016. She battled cancer for many years. Pine was a Saint Paul Winter Carnival Klondike Kate and she performed in countless venues in the city. The original Kate performed during the American Gold Rush of 1898, belting out songs and charming audiences. Pine's love was singing, especially with her husband, Bob, also a professional musician. Her "day jobs" included administrative work for the Ramsey County Court and customer representative for LTCG Insurance in Woodbury. Pine is preceded in death by her mother and father, Gloria and Russell Long and her husband, Bob. She is survived by her siblings, Tom Long, Judy Dicks (husband John) and Lori Meehan (husband Mike); daughters: LaVonne and Vadra Pine; grandchildren: Brittany Sauser (husband Tyler), Tessa Charpentier (husband Ryan), Jessica Pine and VaShon Combs; great grandchildren: Cheyenne Sauser and Carson Charpentier; and nieces and nephews: Adam Long, Chelsea Stickley, Tyler Meehan, Kris and Grace Ninnemann, K.J. Carlson and Michael Lundgren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 16 at Saint Pascal's Baylon Church, 1757 Conway Street, St. Paul. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

My mom Cozette Peterson was unable to attend her funeral since she was in the hospital but really wanted to go. I remember many times going to Diane's house with my mom and visiting with her grandchildren, Brittany and Tessa. Her cat would just sit on my lap for hours.

I will pray for comfort and healing for your family.

My Dearest Mom, IT'S BEEN A MONTH SINCE YOU WENT "HOME". The pain of loosing you is still very raw. The ONLY thing that comforts me is knowing that the pain is gone now, and you can rest mom. You were a good Mom, you gave us what we needed most and that was UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. You've touched so many hearts. I remember when you were Kate and you delivered "meals on wheels" to the ones who could no longer cook for themselves. You told me once about a woman who had not one family member that was still alive to care for her, and how happy she was to see you. That has stayed me to this day because only after hearing that did I realize how lucky I truly was because at that time I had not lost one family member. I couldn't imagine being all alone in the world. It's people like YOU that cared for these people that made it easier for them to get through each day. This is just one of the many things you did that put a twinkle back into a sick/lonely persons eyes.
You have so many loved ones here that will forever keep your legacy alive. You will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN...
I LOVE AND MISS YOU MOM

I am so sorry we didn't get to have another talk on the phone.....we sure enjoyed the laughing and reminiscing. We had so many fun times when we were Kates! My deepest sympathy for your family, I didn't know all of them, but I remember LaVonne, Vadra, Judy, and your wonderful parents. I hope you are once again with Bob, I know how you loved him. Prayers and Blessings to your family.
Love, Nancy Bauer Moshier

My beautiful, sassy, loving sister....I will carry so many memories with me, the most treasured being the ones shared with you in the last two years...God is so good, so loving, to have blessed us with that! I promise you I will master moms fudge and laugh about the stories we had of all our misses on that while doing so...lol
I will remember you allowing me, a 13 year old girl to pierce your ears...WHAT were you thinking? LOL When I'm sad I will remember your ridiculously funny stories shared of your experience at the Mayo and how we laughed until we couldn't anymore. I will remember how gracious you were when recieving those hideous purple plastic triangle earrings I bought you for Christmas at the age of 7. I wish you still had those goofy things! I will remember, I will remember, I remember...so much but most importantly I will remember you! XO

Mathew 7:13 - 14
13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

You have found it!!
