John "Red, White & Blue" Kennedy, (as some of use to call him) was one of the kindest and friendliest pilots I ever knew. I only got to fly with him as I recall a couple of times, however I maintained a friendship with John thru the years as we met at the Fellowship of Christian Pilots breakfasts! I truly admired his faithfulness and was honored to be considered his friend.
My condolences to his family and God Bless you all!

Our memories of the Lake will always include Bill Kennedy. Such a wonderful neighbor, always so welcoming. All the neighbors speak so highly of him as the 'go to' guy who could fix anything or help solve any of the multitude of problems those old cabins had! Our deepest sympathy to all of you.

Eve and I were saddened to hear of "Red" Kennedy's departure and we send our sincere sympathies to all of his family. "Red", as he was known at Northwest was a legend on the airline going back to his days working on the Northern Region for NWA during World War II. He was always able to tell stories of NWA in the 40's that fascinated us. Always a pleasure to fly with and a great credit to Northwest, he will be greatly missed.
Sincerely,
Dick and Eve Smith

"Red" was one of my favorite Captains to fly with as a copilot over the Pacific Ocean. Always had some story or a new gadget to try to figure out that he just bought in Tokyo. One night he had one of the first digital watches with a red background and white digits. Red kept having a hard time trying to get it set correctly. I kept "teasing" him and "Red", the 2nd Officer and I all had many laughs together.
At the RNPA functions we attended "Red" would always remember to say Hello to me. I was flattered that he remembered me for so long.
May you rest in Peace in a nice place where you do not need to use a watch in Eternity.

Your father was a special friend as well as my "Uncle Bill". The proverbial joker, I have a lot of happy memories from family gatherings over the years; from taking me to my first circus when I was four, to mentoring me on all things automotive as a teenager, the list goes on. Remembering the 'special times' helps us cope. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time of loss. Celebrate his life knowing that he is with his Lord and Savior.

John was a kind, gentle man. A true friend for 67years. A devoted Northwest Airline employee for 40 some years. He will be truly missed. Godspeed on your journey.
