Age 86 On September 21, 2012 Beloved mother of eight, friend to all, and proud lifelong resident of Saint Paul. Original member of the "Lincoln Ladies," who watched over neighborhood children and helped one another through tough times. Sally loved holidays and took great joy in her extended family, always making sure there was enough food to make last minute guests feel welcome. She attended Convent of the Visitation School and University of Minnesota, worked for Catholic Charities prior to marriage, and was an active volunteer and member of Junior League, Guild of Catholic Women, Saint Thomas Academy Mothers' Club, and president of St. Luke's Women's Club. Preceded in death by husband David J Brill, parents William J and Angela (Stoms) Towle, sisters Molly Gatto and Angela Corcoran, brothers William and Timothy Towle. The decibel level surely rose when she arrived in heaven, to greet those she missed so much. She is survived by sister Avelina Schneider; children Stephen (Cynthia Lehr), Nicholas (Linda Pearl), Michael (Nancy Lethert), Christopher, Mary Lucile (Timothy Plunkett), Matthew (Carolyn Kennedy), Peter (Lori Sterzinger), and Vincent (Suzanne Revor); 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Marjorie (Baird) and Sheila (Sheridan) Towle and brothers-in-law Alan (Sheila Roach) and Thomas (Bernell Lilla) Brill; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation 4-8PM Tuesday at O'Halloran & Murphy, 575 Snelling Ave. S., St. Paul (651) 698-0796. Mass of Christian Burial 10AM Wednesday at St. Luke's Catholic Church (aka SAINT THOMAS MORE) 1079 Summit Ave., St. Paul. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. I will always remember the beautiful gatherings at your house we attended when I was a child and the wonderful wedding shower you threw for me. You always had all the details covered. I know you are in heaven with the weight of the world lifted from your soul. May God keep you until we meet again!
Your niece, Suzanne Brill

So sorry I had to miss the service for my old dear friend and former next-door neighbor, Sally Towle Brill. All best wishes to her children and remaining siblings. Sally and Angie ran a daycare service attended by my siblings as children. She will be missed.

Sally Brill was a dear friend for over 50 years. She and Dave raised a wonderful family, and the many others who visited them on Lincoln Avenue. She could have run the world, but chose us here in St. Paul, MN. RIP and condolences to all the family and many friends.

Lucy, and the entire family, please accept my sincere sympathy! As I read the entries in the guest book, it warmed my heart to see so many of our OLP sister's comments! Nancy, Chris, Lynn and Janet to name a few. Lucy, it was nice seeing you last year at our gathering at Lucky 13. So many fond memories of the Brill house. Many visits with both your parents, Dave and Sally. Sally did calligraphy with my mom, Jo White. Dave Brill painted our stucco house on 1137 Lincoln. I used to sit inside the windows and chat with him! He often brought your big black dog named Buck. I had five sisters, and I do think back then I was envious of Lucy being "the only girl!" Lucy and I used to try to surprise her mom every now and then by cleaning their whole house. Sally would return home and shower us with praise, and I remember she took us to Swanson's on Grand Avenue and bought us each our own box of Fiddle Faddle!! She was a lady, in every sense of the word, and she loved to have fun. So sorry for your loss. I will be with you in spirit. Peggy White Blake

Dear Aunt Evy, Steve, Nick, Mike, Chris, Lucy, Matty, Pete, Vinnie, and all the "little" Brillos: I am so sorry we have lost Aunt Sally. I have the fondest memories of summers at the Brill house and at the Brill cabin. They are priceless! I loved her so much, she was like another mom to me and a grandma to my kids. She will always hold a cherished place in my heart. I rejoice that she is reunited in heaven with Uncle Dave, Grandmother and Grandfather, my mom, Uncles Bill & Tim, and Aunt Angie. RIP, Aunt Sally, I love you and will miss you.

Dear Steve, Nick, Mike, Matt, Chris, Lucy, Peter and Vince: I was so sorry to hear of Aunt Sally's death - I have so many great memories of spending holidays at the Brills on Lincoln Avenue - you were all so much fun to be with!! and I still remember all of your darling baby pictures in your little "sailor suits" lined up in the den and Aunt Sally was so much fun - always cheerful and happy - the more the merrier! I always wished that we could have lived in St. Paul to be closer to our cousins! I love all of you and I know Aunt Sally is with grandmother & grandfather and Uncle Dave and Dad, Molly, Tim and Angie, John and Tim Corcoran and looking down on us with love and caring. I can't be at the funeral on Wednesday but will go to Mass at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago after work and think of all of you! Much much Love, Betsy

Sally, You produced a son who has brought my daughter her greatest happiness as his wife, and your other children who have provided her with 'a loving instant family'. What greater gifts can one person give another. I feel blessed to have known you. Shirley Pearl, Mother of 'Pearl'.

Dear Steve, Nick, Mike, Lucy, Matt, Peter, Vinnie, & Chris,

I'm so glad I was able to spend time with my Aunt Sally at Karen's birthday party. She was a grand lady and always treated me very well - almost like the ninth child! (ha) She always had that wonderful knack of making you feel like you were the most important thing at the moment; I always admired her firm cheerful disposition and love of the kids! There'll never be anyone like her & will be missed by all! I'm so sorry for your loss. Love to all!

Dear Lucy and family-so very sorry about the passing of your mom. My mom lives right across"the hall" and was so very shocked. It was so nice seeing your mom and visting with her. It was always so nice to know that she was a neighbor-she would stop in and "check"
on mom. She will be so very missed by all.
You are in my prayers.

Dear Lucy, Please convey my sympathies to your family, and to Evy as well. Sorry that I came to "that block" on Lincoln too late to have the caring, wisdom and love the "Lincoln Ladies shared. Being seated at a table in Denali National Park and to find your parents at the next table was a lovely surprise for the three of us. Fondly, Doe
