Carol Johnson JACKSON Obituary
OCDS Age 58 Graciously accepted Christ's invitation and gently surrendered to advanced cancer on December 1, Advent Eve. Preceded in death by father, Robert W Johnson, and son Jeffrey. Survived by loving children Daniel, Joanne, Robert, and Kathleen, mother Helen D Johnson, brothers and sisters, Dennis (Kathy) Johnson, Dr Mark (Julie) Johnson, Mary Koch, Susan Johnson, Kathleen (Jim) Casper, and Margaret Johnson. Beloved aunt of Kristen Johnson, Andrew, Matthew, Katie Johnson, Karla and Matthew Koch, Michelle Johnson, Max, Lewie and Maggie Casper, many loving and caring friends and family, and her beloved Carmelite community. Carol grew up in St Paul and graduated from Derham Hall High School and later The College of St Catherine. Formerly of Mound and New Germany, MN and most recently Excelsior, MN. She was Asst Faith Formation Director at St John the Baptist Church just prior to her passing. Carol was a humble, compassionate, and tender-hearted secular Carmelite who made her definitive promises on November 1, 2012, All Saints Day. She was incredibly creative and loved sewing, gardening, oil painting, ironing!, canning, knitting, quilting, "and stuff like that". There wasn't a creative project she couldn't handle. Carol was a woman of great faith, and she enjoyed many sweet blessings in her final precious days with family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Friday December 7 at 10:30am at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 680 Mill Street, Excelsior, MN. Visitation Thursday from 4 to 8pm with prayers at 7:00pm at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, and at church one hour preceding Mass. Carmelites are invited to wear ceremonial scapulars. Internment at Resurrection Cemetery - Shorewood.
