Claire Marguerite KEEFE Obituary
January 18, 1918 – December 26, 2013 Of St. Paul Preceded in death by parents, John and Georgina Keefe; and brother-in-law, Gene Clifford. Survived by loving sister, Jane Clifford; beloved nieces and nephews, Sheila Lind (Peter), Cathy Brennan (Jerry), Dennis (Pam), John, James (Mary), Mark and Brian Clifford; great nieces and nephews, Eric (Christianne), C.J. (Carolyn), Meghan Lind, Abby, Kerry Brennan, Theresa (Wilson) Acevedo, James (Ellie), Michael Clifford; 5 great-great nephews, 1 great-great niece; also many devoted cousins and friends. Claire graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and the University of Minnesota. She was an auditor for the War Dept. during World War II and continued working for the government until her retirement as executive assistant to the Chief of the Outpatient Clinic at Fort Snelling. She later worked as office manager at B.O.M.A. in Mpls. She traveled around the world though she lived her entire life in the Merriam Park/Highland area, belonging to only two parishes, St. Mark's and Lumen Christi (St. Leo's). Claire worked tirelessly for the needs of the parish, her host of friends, their families and her own. She spent countless hours recovering the histories of the Keefe and Mulcahy clans and her prodigious memory for people and events amazed us all. Her generous and loving heart included everyone and she will be greatly missed. We are grateful for the caring and dignified service she enjoyed at the Wellington these last six months. Our thanks also to David Grappoli, MD and the staff of Interim Home Care for their loving attention. Memorials are preferred to St. Luke Foundation, Haiti (Fr. Rick Frechette) or Lumen Christi Church. 651-698-0796
