Beloved husband, father and grandfather Age 93 of St. Paul, Highland Park 3M Retiree Passed away peacefully at his residence at Claire Bridge of North Oaks on October 28, 2012. Preceded in death by his wife Elaine whom he shared 64 wonderful active years of marriage. Survived by sons Fred Jr. "Mick" (Mary), Bill (Sue) and Richard (Carol); grandchildren Bill, James, Kristy and Nicki. Fred was a WWII Veteran serving in the USCG-Greenland Patrol. Fred was active in organized baseball (1935 St. Paul Christi de Parq State and Regional Champions), later playing for the 3M Championship teams (Maroon Commercial City League) in fast pitch softball and basketball. Later in his life he transitioned to playing tennis and played well into his mid 80's. He supported his 3 sons in Scouting and their paths to the rank of Eagle Scouts. Many summers were spent at the family cabin at Lake Sylvia fishing, water skiing, and playing tennis. He will be missed by his many friends and family. Long time member of Holy Spirit Church. Funeral services 11:00am, Saturday, November 17th at the O'Halloran & Murphy Highland Chapel (575 S. Snelling Ave. St. Paul) 651-698-0796. Visitation one hour prior to services at the chapel Saturday. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Catholic Charities or Greater Lake Sylvia Association.
