Age 71 Of Saint Paul Passed into the arms of our Lord peacefully on February 19, 2013, with his family by his side at the V.A. Medical Center. He was born on February 2, 1942, in Bismarck, North Dakota. He attended Bismarck High School and then joined the U.S. Navy. He and his wife Lois moved to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1966, where he worked as a floor coverer and then an over the road truck driver for various employers and for the last 20 years at Transwood, Inc. of Roseville, MN. George was happiest spending time with his very large family. He was known within his family for his musical talent playing the guitar and singing the old family songs. George was an avid Vikings fan, a lifetime member of the VFW, and Moose Lodge. George is survived by his loving wife Lois (Becknell), children Richard (Jeanne), Kimberly (Steve), Wes (Rose); grandchildren Rowan, Aleshia, Rebecca, Serena, Danielle, Connor, and Jenna; great grandson, Kye Daniel; brothers, sisters, many nieces and nephews and their spouses. The family wants to extend a heartfelt thanks to the terrific nursing staff of the VA Medical Center for their outstanding care and compassion. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at The Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1725 Kennard Street, Maplewood, MN. A luncheon will be held at church following Mass. Burial Fort Snelling National Cemetery following the luncheon.
