A man of deep faith and conviction facing life (and death) with courage. Even as a bus driver confiding in me his experience with graves registration in Vietnam. Bless you, Patrice.

Patrice, you didn't know I drove school bus and worked in the Columbia Transit yard with Jim. As a conscientious objector he worked graves registration in the Viet Nam era. God bless his legacy and you, my friend.

Dear Patrice and family:
I met Jim in '64. We started Bethel together. I am sorry that he has gone. If I went to the State Fair, I always parked at your house so that I could see Jim. He always greeted me with enthusiasm and joy. I remember him as man full of joy and full of pride in his family.
Jim was an incredible athlete at Bethel. As a freshman, he held so many titles but I remember one, the triple jump. I had never heard of this event until Jim told me he just won a tract meet event and now held the Bethel record in the triple jump. What a guy. I am so sorry he is gone. But blessed is his memory.

I worked with Jim for many years, and I could go on forever about the good times we had, thousands of laughs, smiles, talks and just really good memories. He was one of the nicest people I have ever known. I remember the day his grand daughter Genevieve was born, he was so proud I thought he was going to fly.

Patrice and family- We were so sad to hear of Jim's passing and our hearts, thoughts and prayers continue to be with all of you. My favorite memory of Jim was during the celebration for Genevieve's first birthday in the party room at Shannon and Johns.....He was just everywhere taking pictures of her, being the most loving and attentive grandpa you could ever wish for!! It was so obvious how much he loved her! Such a special, kind and caring man whose memory will continue to live on!
Much love to all of you from,

Patrice and family,
We are so saddened to hear of Jim's death. Whenever we remember Cub Scouts at Chelsea or paper routes, we think of Jim with a smile on our faces. He was a wonderful man and father and one of those people that we feel blessed to have crossed paths with in our lives.
