Josephine Mary ROUSSEAU Obituary
Age 88 died peacefully at home February 22, 2013 of natural causes, surrounded by her loving family. Josephine (nee Pedro) was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota to Frances Maria (nee Crea) and James Vincent Pedro, August 28, 1924. Her devotion to family was the foundation for Josephine's rewarding life. Josephine was grateful for her seven children, wonderful friends and 63 years of marriage to Daniel L. Rousseau, M.D. Josephine married Dan in 1947 and settled in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Together they built a fun-filled and adventurous life that included world travels, golf, tennis, skiing, and extensive time spent with friends and family. She was a lifetime member of Hillcrest Country Club and Gowanie Golf Club and longtime member of Saint Peter Church in Mount Clemens and San Marco Church, Marco Island, Florida. Josephine graduated from Saint Joseph Academy for girls in Saint Paul, MN. These were important years where fond memories and close friendships remained a part of her entire adult life. She also attended Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan. She was a woman of great faith, conviction, determination, always gracious and sported a keen sense of humor. Josephine was proud to be a state champion tournament bridge player and devoted countless hours volunteering for the Auxiliary to Macomb County Medical Society, the Michigan Medical Society and Mount Clemens Symphony Orchestra, where her organizational and networking skills were especially appreciated. Loving mother of Daniel Louis, Jr., Mary Jo (Edward) Siegrist, Jeanne Marie (Steven) Marino, Patricia Marie (John) Holland, Annette Marie (Ronald) Rousseau-Henley, Denise Marie (Mike Danosky) Rousseau and Frances Maria (Kevin) Kieliszewski. Proud grandmother of Brandon and David Siegrist, John Mark, Danielle and Christopher Holland and Michael, Daniel, Cecilia and Steven Kieliszewski. Preceded in death by her siblings Louis, Joseph, Orlando, Samuel, Sidney, and husband Daniel. Survived by brother James (Connie) Pitera, Saint Paul, MN and her seven children. It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we say good-bye to our dear mother. It is comforting to know that she is in peace and comfort and in the arms of our heavenly Mother and Father. The family wishes to thank Josephine's caregivers, gifted nurses, caring doctor Manolis Kyriacou, M.D. and Reverence Hospice for their attentive and nurturing care.
