Retired White Bear Lake High School Teacher Age 65, of WBL. Passed away January 23rd, 2013. He was born in St. Paul on July10, 1947. He is preceded in death by parents John V. and Virginia E. Welke and brother in law. Survived by his beloved wife, Casey. And by sisters Julie; Mary (Curt) Henderson and Laurel (Dale) Avery and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. As a teacher he felt that when you teach you touch the future. He was a lifetime member of Minnesota Territorial Pioneers, he served two years as President of the Minnesota Genealogy Society. He was an actor with the Lakeshore Players Theatre. Mark loved to travel and was an avid civil war historian. He was a kind and caring man who will be deeply missed by many. Friends may visit the family MONDAY from 5-8 PM at MUELLER LAKE MORTUARY, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave. at 3rd St., WBL and 1 hour prior to Mass. Mass of Christian Burial TUESDAY at 11:30 AM at St. Mary of the Lake Church. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
