He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Swangstue and Dorothy Swangstue/Pfenning; brother Robert Pfenning; son Mark Swangstue. Survived by his wife of 33 years, Scheryl, children, Tina (Tim Rehak); Theresa (Brad Wirt); Sandra (Clark Wicklund); Amy Swangstue; Susan Swangstue; Wendy (Ron Kosloski); Sally Schroeder; grandchildren, Jessica; Tim; Ben; Dan; Elizabeth; Taylor; Zack; Paige; Luke; Jennica; Michael; Samantha; Nathan; Myia; Korie; LB; Hana. Also survived by sister, Judy (Chuck Cleveland), brother, Gordy (Peggy) Pfenning; nieces, nephews and friends. He was so very proud of his Local 34. He enjoyed getting together with guys from Local 34. He had more stories than anyone of us can count. He loved his family and was proud of each ones accomplishments and you could always rely on him for wise council. He was firm in his way which benefited his children and taught us to stand on our own. Marv enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to plant flowers which he did every spring. He took care of the Mud Hen Cemetery and liked his "new" job. You could find him at the local café daily for breakfast, the waitresses and now like family, then off to Jimmy's, two peas in a pod, besides his own home sitting in his favorite chair watching CNN, Jimmy's was the next best place to be. We can't leave out his pet peeves, will miss every one they are a part of each of us forever. We love you Dad, Marv, Pudge, Grandpa and friend. Service Wednesday, March 24, 2010, Edling Funeral Home, 387 State Hwy 70, Grantsburg, WI 715-463-2994 2:00 pm. Reception to follow service at family residence.

Sincere condolences to Marv's family on their loss. When we were growing up in St Paul we knew him as "Bud" or "Swanee" and he was in my wedding in 1961.

Thinking about you all. Sending my deepest condolences.

Uncle Pudge could always put a smile on my face, and my heart. I am so thankful to have known such a wonderful man. He will be missed by so many. Thank you uncle Pudge for all the memories. I love you very much.

If tears could build a stairway,
And memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to Heaven
And bring you home again.

To Marv's family. You don't know me, but I worked under Marv as an apprentice in the trade 40 + years ago. I was in H.S. Never the less, I can still remember him well because of all the humorous and funny things that he'd come up with. My sincerest condolences go out to you for your loss.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

We may not always understand why things like death of loved ones happen, or what God's plan is. In times of trial, we need to trust in him, for his plans for us are great. He created a place for us to spend eternity with him after we leave this earth. He died so that we can live in his kingdom eternally, where there is no pain or sorrow.

Sorry about Marv. Or Bud is what we called him. We knew him from grade school [Gordon] and on. Didn't see him much after he moved to Siren but he was only a phone call away. We had alot of memories and laughs which will keep him in our thoughts. He will be missed.
