Dr. Maynard Clinton REYNOLDS Obituary
February 16, 1922-October 16, 2012 One of the architects of the American Disabilities Act died today at his home in North Oaks MN. Dr. Reynolds is best known as a pioneer in teaching exceptional children in all American schools, known as adaptive mainstreaming. Among numerous accomplishments, he received the University of Minnesota Outstanding Achievement Award which recognizes University graduates who have attained unusual distinction in their profession. Dr. Reynolds was a professor at the University of Minnesota for 38 years and served his country during World War II in the South Pacific theater in the Solomon Islands with the Army Air Force. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Donna Lou Reynolds; children Judy (Neil Suneson), Kathy, and John Reynolds (Helenbeth) along with devoted grandchildren, Ryan Suneson (Jessica Neufeld), Peter Suneson, Jill Reynolds and David Reynolds.
