Hey there Chuck,
It's been too long, I miss you. Things have been crazy lately and could use some of your sound words of advise. Hope you and mom are having a good time along with all of the other relatives. Ask Jesus to help me and allow you to come see me once in awhile and give me some words of encouragement. Let mom know I see the ladybugs and know she is watching over me.

Hey Uncle Chuck... It's just me... Was randomly thinking about you and meeting Archer in the Park today and came across this page where I found a post mentioning them. Thank you for that little "Godwink." I know that even though you're not physically here anymore, you're still here. It'll be 15 years this year and I still miss you daily. Love you.

Just sitting here and thinking about you.....your great moral support over the years and how how I could use some right now. I know you are watching over us and sending those little signs of surprise. I just wish I could have another talk with you. You seemed to know just what to say.

Just sitting here, hanging loose, contemplating the deaper meaning in life. I know you would have something philisophical to say about all this, keeping in style with your dry wit and humor. Wish you could enlighten me a bit, but I guess no kibutzing from the sidelines these days. I'm sure you are well aware of all the changes that have happened over the years. Thanks for keeping a candle lit. Hopefuly, eventualy, well get together and have more good times. You keep everyone laughing, and hold a spot for me someplace in the back row. Well, here it is, another Christmas almost here, and things are still mostly the same. O-dark thirty and all is well on the perimeter. Been 7 years, and still plugging along. Just sitting here thinking about all those days gone by. All I can say is thanks for the memories.

Well,
It's been a year. Lots have happened. You already know about all the stuff, just wanted to put it down, so I don't forget. Everyone is doing well. No one has goten sick, Thanksgiving came. Family was here. Had good time. Still making ends meet, without any real problems. Been able to take care of the family, and do some good things for others. Having good feelings about life, and still missing your dry humor. Maybe, someday, I'll be able to hook up with you again. I know I don't have to say be good. You've already done that. Now it's my turn to do good.

Thanks for watching out for Buster as he tried out for the High School hockey team, and for Teeny as she works at getting that Academic Letter. You will have to let her know if there is an "Archer in the Park" We miss you tremendously. Thanks for all the memories. Love you lots

Hey Chuck,
Well here it is August. I almost forgot, it's been so long. I have 15 years now. Thanks for giving me a place, when I was down and out. I dont't think I would have made it those first couple of months if it hadn't been for you. I know I'll never be able to return all the favors. All I can try to do is live up to your standards. I'll always miss you. Too bad I had to learn the hard way, what losses can cost. The kids are doing great, and all is well. Thanks for the memories.

When I think of Mike the word passion comes to mind. He had it in his work and also with his home and family. I have known Mike for over 15 years and most recently worked with him on the Aegis BMD program. He will be missed. My prayers are with his wife and family. He loved you dearly.

Carrie and all of Mike's children,
Like many, I have worked with Mike for over ten years as an engineering and professional through VLS and the Aegis BMD programs. I always enjoyed talking with Mike. Sharing the trials and tribulations of raising children, working to solve the latest engineering or budget challenge, and waiting to see which tie he would wear to the next design review. He loved his family and life. I was deeply saddened and shock to here of Mike's passing, but it was fitting that it was doing some sports activity that he loved. He always talked about coaching the kid's teams and how he enjoyed it. Mike will be sincerely missed by me. My life has been better for having known him. May God bless you all as you work to recover from your loss and comfort you with the knowledge that during his short life, he touched many people very deeply. With sincere sympathy, Wendy

I had known Mike for over 10 years, while we worked together on the SM-3 Program. I was greatly saddened to hear of his passing. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to all of Mike's family.

Mike Smieja was a very good man, and he will be missed. I first knew him as a skilled, professional engineer and manager. I grew to know him as a valued friend. He was the type of man you wished you could have as your next-door neighbor. He had a great sense of humor, often laughing at his own foibles and enjoying the irony of life. Above all, it was obvious he loved his family. It wasn’t the tales he told of his children, his wife or his parents. It was how he told them: always with love, respect and kindness. The world is a sadder place without him.

I had the privilege to work with Mike through the SM-3 program, and always enjoyed talking to him during the many meetings we ended up in together. Mike was a kind, caring person, who will be missed by all who knew him. My deepest sympathy to his family during this difficult time.

Mike was a pleasure to work with. His dedication to the Vertical Launching System was inspirational to all of us at BAE SYSTEMS. Whenever Mike and I talked about topics outside of business, we would always end up discussing our families. Mike’s was his top priority and his greatest joy. Mike touched everyone’s life in some way and I give thanks for knowing him. God bless his family.

Mike came into our life and never left our hearts! He was a remarkable husband and father. His dedication to Deb in her time of need was commendable beyond anyones expectations and the fact that his new life with Carrie, Terry, Lucy, Amanda, Bradley, Tommy, and Michaela was able to be shared with ours will always be treasured.
