Raymond J. "Ray" McCORMICK Obituary
Ray passed away suddenly March 24, 2014. Born and raised on a farm near Belle Plaine, MN. Joined the Navy in 1942 and was a WWII Veteran. In 1948, he was honorably discharged and moved to St. Paul where he married Gloria Matthews and had 5 children. Worked for the St. Paul schools for 30 years. Ray loved his life, treasured his Irish heritage and made friendships wherever he went, had a great knack for storytelling, was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. Devoted to his family and the Catholic Faith. Ushered at St. Mark's for many years. Preceded in death by loving wife Gloria with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage and beloved son, Dennis. Parents Michael and Margaret (Kelly) McCormick. Survived by children Steven McCormick, Colleen Martineau, Debbie Olness, and Patti Wells. Grandchildren Chris Martineau, Erik Olness, Alyssa Olness, Janna (Lyle) Bishop, Jessie (Matt) Grover and 4 adored great granddaughters. Cherished brother Mike, sister-in-law Lucille, along with many treasured nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Monday, March 31, 2014 at St. Mark's Catholic Church (2001 Dayton Ave. at Moore, St. Paul) with visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Private inurnment at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Memorials preferred to Smile Train. 651-698-0796
