Robert B. ANDERSON Obituary
Passed away October 25, 2013 at home in Maryland, following a courageous 6-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Bob was born September 30, 1946 in Great Falls, Montana, and was raised in St. Paul. He graduated from Sibley H.S. (1964) and Hamline University (1968) and did advanced course work at Johns Hopkins University. He was recognized as a National Merit Scholar and a Woodrow Wilson Fellow. Bob did 36 years of service in the U.S. government, working as an economist at the General Accounting Office, Federal Reserve and Office of Management & Budget and serving in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970. He traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe and was extremely well read and well versed in art and music. He often returned to St. Paul to visit family and friends and enjoyed the wilderness and lakes of Minnesota. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Bruce Anderson. He is survived by his brothers, James (Karola Moore) and David (Virginia); nephews Ryan, Kevin and Jeff; niece Rachel; uncles Don Anderson and John Elliott; aunt Alice Treat; many cousins and a wide circle of close and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Mendota Heights on Saturday, November 30, at 11AM, followed by a lunch. Memorials may be made to the Montgomery Hospice Foundation of Rockville, MD.
