Rollie H. LANGER Obituary
Age 83 , of Minneapolis Died February 23, 2013 from complications of cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Leonard O. Langer Jr.; sister, Marilyn Ellis; brother, Freeman Donald Segal; sister-in-law, Ruth Langer; brothers-in-law, Richard Langer and Fred Ellis; and grandson, Leo Monson. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Maren (Marcos Villasenor), Sara (Bruce Monson), Elizabeth (Ann Walters), Kristen; adored grandsons, Benjamin and Reed Monson; and dearly loved cousins, nieces and nephews. Rollie enjoyed a long career as a social worker in a variety of professional roles. Her interests and advocacy included equal access to education, other social justice issues and local politics. After retirement, she thoroughly enjoyed volunteering as a tutor in the Minneapolis public schools and at Minneapolis Community Technical College. Rollie cherished her family and friends; she will be profoundly missed. Our family wants to thank the medical staff associated with Abbott-Northwestern Hospital and the nurses and aides of Allina and N.C. Little Hospices for the care and dignity they afforded Rollie at the end of her life. Funeral Service FRIDAY, March 1st, 1:00 PM at HODROFF-EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 126 E. Franklin Ave, Mpls. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Jewish Community Action or to St. Stephen's Social Services.
