Sarah GUBASH Obituary
passed away on January 22, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Renowned for her boundless generosity, hospitality and compassion. Her door was always open. She was a legendary Lebanese cook whose greatest joy came from welcoming people to her table. We were honored to call her Mom. Her life was a symbol of deep faith, hard work and honesty. She worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad and helped found Twin City Refuse and Recycling, for which she did the bookkeeping into her eighties. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Gubash; and survived by her children, Sandra (James) Kowski, Greg Gubash, Charlene (Mohamed Muslemany) Gubash; her only sister, Rose Karas; grandchildren, Jennifer Kowski-Dahlberg, Sara Harm, Raymond Kowski, Jacob Karas, Kareem, and Yasmina Muslemany; great-grandchild, Audrey Kowski; nieces, Anna and Renee Karas, Irene Esparza, Rosemary and Elaine; nephews, Charles, James, John and Michael Karas, and Roy and George Sam; and many beloved relatives in the US and Lebanon. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at The Church of St. Matthew, 507 Hall Ave. @ Robie St; St. Paul. Visitation 4-8 PM, Friday, January 25 with a Prayer Service starting at 7 PM at West Funeral Home (651-457-6200), 1051 So., Robert St; WSP and also 1 hr. prior to the service at church. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, followed by a reception at Crowne Plaza Hotel, 11 E. Kellogg Blvd, St. Paul. (651) 457-6200
