After a brief period as a homesteader in Gravelbourg (Sask.) Canada, the family relocated to NE Minneapolis in 1919. Ann graduated from East High School in 1924, went to business school, and spent a few years working as a typist in downtown Minneapolis. The couple raised four children in South Minneapolis and Milwaukee (3 years). The couple led an active social life with involvement in church groups, professional organizations, and spending time with family. The talented couple often found themselves at the piano playing duets and singing during family functions. Widowed in 1983, Ann moved to New Brighton and lived independently until 2010. She kept active by golfing, driving and playing cards up to the age of 95. The last 3 years of her life were spent as a resident at Benedictine Health Center in New Brighton. Strong, sociable, and quick witted, Ann loved a good visit, a good party, and good music. She was also an avid and loyal fan of the Minnesota Twins spending many summer nights in front of her TV watching the game.
