N. Paul HARTLEBEN Obituary
Age 88 Beloved Father Norbert "Paul" Hartleben, 88, was surrounded by his loving family at his son's home when he peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 10, 2014. "Nubby or Opah" as known to his family was born on November 21, 1925 in Hankinson, ND. He was the youngest of 17 children in a large German family. He faithfully served his country during World War II from 1943-46 when he was honorably discharged after receiving both the Asiatic-Pacific and World War II Victory Medals. He married his sweetheart, Mildred Breiland, on Valentine's Day of 1953. He supported his family for 42 years by working for Minnegasco. However, his true gift and passion was playing the chapel organ at the VA Medical Center retiring on February 23, 2014 after 60 years of dedication and honor to those who served and continue to serve. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and 15 siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mildred; sons Paul (Cami) Hartleben of Stillwater, MN and Bruce (Mary) Hartleben of Mt Kisco, NY; grandchildren Michael, Devin, Garrett, Maya, Sara, Amber and Whitney; great-grandchildren John, Cherish and Rhaydn; sister Dorothea Pluemer and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 11 AM Wednesday, April 16th at KLECATSKY & SONS EAGAN CHAPEL, 1580 Century Pt. (Yankee Doodle at Coachman) Eagan (651-454-9488). Visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Chaplain's Office of the VA Medical Center, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417.
