Alan K. HARTMANN Obituary
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather Passed away July 5, 2014 after a year and a half battle with metastatic lung cancer. He passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side. Al remained brave and optimistic despite a number of medical setbacks—he remained a trooper to the very end. Preceded in death by parents, Gail M. and Mary C. Hartmann (Badour); brother, Jonathon C. Hartmann, and son, Richard A. Hartmann. Survived by loving and devoted wife, Rosemary (Ro) (Mastel) Hartmann; children, Theresa Sanders (Reginald), Karen Dodson (Roy), Daniel Hartmann (Kelly), Kimberley Weidt (Tom), and Scott Hungerford. 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Born in Chattanooga, TN and grew up in Springfield, MD, he won first place in a "Most Beautiful Baby" contest when he was a year old. Alan served in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969 and obtained honorable discharge as a Sergeant. He retired in 2006 after many years in the food service management industry. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and effortless good nature. He had a love of music, reading, and traveling the country with his wife Rosemary in their RV. He will be missed by the many members of his family and extended group of friends. Visitation 5-8PM., Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Klecatsky & Sons Eagan Chapel, 1580 Century Pt.; Eagan. The committall will be held at 12:30 PM., Thursday, July 10th at Fort Snelling National Cemetery (Assembly Area #4). The family would like to extend their appreciation and great thanks to the staff at Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul for there are and comfort of Alan in his final weeks of life.
