I am blessed to have been instructed by "The Master", being lucky enough to be in W7-P7 with you folks! He made politics fun. I learned a lot from Wayne and have often referenced him when talking local politics with others.
He was a "Class Act"! - Tom

Joan and Wayne's family,
I owe much to wayne. One of the first public people to treat me as a person and not a disability. Saw potential and wanted me to achieve it. You rounded up folks to help me get my first van cause he wanted me to be able to get around to his meetings.
Love to all the family

Wayne was a fierce warrior with a gentle and selfless heart. His years of devotion to the greater good were a testimony to what a life of integrity and service looks like. I was privileged to have known Wayne. Blessings to his family for having supported him in his unrelenting pursuit of justice for all. Enjoy your eternal reward, Wayne. You have most certainly earned your heavenly crown.

With fondness we remember Wayne's trips to Nicaragua as we, Guardian Angels Church, were beginning a "sister parish" relationship ... it has now been 30+ years. Our hearts go out to you, Joan, and all those who have been touched by Wayne.

Wayne was the embodiment of a brother who could move an agenda that integrated the world wide struggle for justice and equality. He was a servant leader who encourage emerging leadership. I have no words to adequately express the importance of his work and his life.

So sorry for your loss. I was a member of the St. Paul Trades and Labor Assembly back in the 1980s. When I attended the monthly meetings, at the end of the meeting, Wayne always gave a report promoting community service. I know in my heart that Wayne was a person that found very much joy helping people that were less fortunate, improve their lives. God bless Wayne and his family.
