Janel J. RUSSELL

Age 61, of St. Paul Passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 in St. Paul from a relatively short illness of pancreatic cancer. Janel was preceded in death by her loving father Farrell F. Johnson. Janel is survived by her mother and soulmate Patricia M. Johnson (née Mattson); her brothers Guy (Cheri) and Jeff (Susan) Johnson; her sister Jody (Curt) Johnson Barsness; her son Isaac Rucci (Tay) and her nieces and nephews. Janel inspired many in her personal and professional life. As a mother, she gave abounding love and support to her son Isaac. As a jeweler and business owner, Janel designed the Mother & Child pendant in 1981 (inspired by her father and son). With the licensing, manufacturing and distribution by Kirchner Corporation, the Mother & Child become one of the most successful family themed jewelry designs in US history, and is cherished by millions of women and their families. Janel's love of her profession and commitment to ethics and clients was the foundation of her success. Janel learned and experienced most from life, and was a mentor to many others. Janel touched countless lives, for which she will not be forgotten as her clients embrace her designs and cherish those memories-her love continues to touch our lives from the very sparkles of her timeless designs. Janel will be profoundly missed by countless individuals. Her family expresses immense gratitude to Ginny, Savanah and Wheeler Morris, and Janel's studio colleagues for their spiritual support for Janel and her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, May 10th at St. Rose of Lima (2048 N. Hamline Ave., Roseville). Visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
