Susan and Family,
My deepest sympathies on your loss. I worked with Jerry for 25 years at the Office of Higher Education and will really miss his sense of humor. Whenever he'd have to schedule a meeting, he'd pop in and say "time to herd the cats" or "let's try to gather up the frogs in the wheelbarrow." There was a lot of farm terminology worked into stories, too. We had lots of good laughs. I hope you have many happy memories. I look forward to meeting you at the service for Jerry.

Susan, Rhondi, and Eric,

I can only begin to imagine how hard this is for you. Those of us at work are reeling, too. Jerry's work has been brilliant, a tremendously important part of the genesis and ongoing analysis of the Minnesota State Grant program. Jerry was so important in keeping us focused on students - how what we do affects students. Jerry had so many ways of listening well, being kind, putting a humerous spin on things, being respectful and being a wonderful friend! We will miss him tremendously. Words are inadequate.

Sincerely,

Tricia Grimes
