Jerry Strauss Obituary
Age 59 Of Plymouth He was preceded in death by his parents, Wolf "Witek" and Eda Strauss, his father-in-law Himie "Hy" Ingber, and brother-in-law, Dr. Ian Swatez. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; sons, Andy (Cara), Scott (Jaclyn) and Adam; granddaughter, Emerson; sisters, Pearl (Danny) Berdass, Bobbi (Randy) Heiligman and Marcie (Dennis) Ashenfarb; brother, Michael (Abby) Strauss; mother-in-law, Mildred Ingber; sister-in-law, Harriet Swatez; brother-in-law, Irwin (Diane) Ingber; and many more loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jerry graduated from St. Louis Park HS in 1969, attended the U of M, received his Master's from St. Thomas and continued on to get his law degree from Hamline. He worked for Hennepin County both as a Public Defender and Prosecutor before entering private practice as a Criminal Defense Lawyer. He spent his extra time working at the Talmud Torah of Minneapolis where he taught for years. He was also known to many as the "Barrister" on KFAN. Jerry was larger than life and he will truly be missed. Funeral service THURSDAY, 12:00 PM, BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5224 W. 26th St., St. Louis Park. Memorials preferred to The Mandelbaum USY Holocaust Education Fund/Beth El Synagogue or the Dr. Ian Swatez Memorial Fund at JFCS of Minneapolis. SHIVA at Beth El Synagogue, Thurs, Sun and Mon at 7pm.
