Linda (Hobart) INGHAM Obituary
January 11, 1950 - January 2, 2013 Linda Hobart Ingham passed into the next world late in the evening of January 2, 2013 after a day surrounded by loving friends and family, at age 62. Death was brought on by side effects of the cancer she fought for 11 years. She is survived by her husband, Dave Ingham, daughters Sarah Hart Ingham (Olinga) Abbott and Helen Elaine Ingham, and by her granddaughter, Emmanuelle Elaine Abbott (aka Emmie). She is also survived by her sister, Cynthia Hobart and her children, G. Monique Savoie (Edwin) Bednar and Michelle Savoie; mother-in-law Katharine Ingham; sister-in-law Mary (John) Platt, and their children, Jason (Sarah) and Chris Platt and Samantha Platt (Matt) Trousdale. Linda feels she had "a marvelous life and was one of the most fortunate people ever to have lived, with wonderful family and friends. Please do not feel sorry for me, but you may sympathize with my family. Funerals and memorials are primarily to gather and remember and comfort each other." Linda touched, loved and mentored many people. Her luminous spirit and open arms welcomed all she met. Linda worked for many years at Wells Fargo [Norwest]. After retirement she also worked at Curves and Clickity Sticks. She grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and went to Carleton College, where she met Dave, graduating in 1972. She was a long-time member of the Minnesota Mandolin Orchestra. A gracious hostess, she greatly enjoyed knitting, music, family, friends and was passionately devoted to promoting the oneness of humanity. Linda was a member of the Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'is of Minneapolis for over 25 years, serving in various capacities, including as Vice-Chair and many years as Treasurer. Linda will be buried on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Lakewood cemetery, after an 11:00 AM funeral services at Washburn McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 West 50th Street, Edina, visitation one hour before. A memorial service for friends to gather and remember Linda will be held on Saturday, January 12 at 7:00 PM at the Bahá'i Center, 3644 Chicago Avenue S, Minneapolis.
