He is survived by Barbara, his loving wife of 47 years; sisters Georgeann Lang and Gloria Haider; aunt Marcella Morgan; and many friends who remember his charm, wit and love of life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Haider, and best pet, Winston. A native of St. Paul, he grew up in the West End and attended Cretin High School and the University of Minnesota. He was a veteran actor in community theaters such as Theatre St. Paul and the Cricket Theatre in the Twin Cities. He went on to become director of the Peoria Players in Illinois, where he met Barbara, his future wife. His love of theater continued throughout his life and he supported the Guthrie Theater and enjoyed trips to New York to see theater productions there. He was especially fond of Stephen Sondheim musicals. After working in Peoria and Chicago, the couple moved to Minneapolis, where Wayne had a successful corporate career including several years at Carlson Companies, and later enjoyed working for Hennepin County District Court for about 10 years. Wayne asked all to share and toast their times together with joy and laughter. A celebration of his life will be held in the spring. Thanks to all who helped him through his recent illness.
