LaVon L. "Bonnie" BILLMEYER Obituary
Age 81 ~ Devoted Wife, Loving Mother and Grandmother Gained victory with Jesus on January 29, 2013 surrounded by Family and Clergy. An elegant woman with wonderful taste, Bonnie enjoyed reading, the great outdoors (camping, fishing, hunting and golf); and, most of all, her family. A library volunteer at Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Green Valley, AZ, she also helped start the "picture lady" program at Afton Lakeland Elementary in the 1970s. A National T.T.T. Society member (Wisconsin Chapter) for over 50 years. Born February 6, 1931 to Rupert and Thelma Johnson in Butte, MT, the family soon moved to Eau Claire, WI, where she grew up and attended college. In 1952 Bonnie married the love of her life, George, together they raised two children, moving to Afton, MN in 1971. Largely a homemaker, she also served as Afton's City Clerk in the 1980's. In retirement, she and George enjoyed life in AZ. Bonnie is survived by her son Wade and grandson Rene. She was preceded in death by her husband George, daughter Jan Bille, and brother Rupert. A Memorial service in celebration of her life will be held February 19, 2013, 11 AM, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 880 Neal Avenue South, Afton, MN.
