Doris W. JANDRIC Obituary
Age 92, of St. Paul Doris Winifred (Branch) Jandric died peacefully on May 16, 2013. Beloved wife of 69 years to Emil Jandric (married November 21, 1940). Dode will be deeply missed by her 8 surviving children: Kathy Jandric, Patty Annis, Bill (Joelise) Jandric, Chris McCue, Frank (Harriett/Cookie) Jandric, Barb Jandric (Brad Cairncross), Tom Jandric, Putzie (Larry) Fryklund; 23 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband Emil Jandric (who passed away July 11, 2009); son, Dicky Jandric; grandson, Christopher Annis; sons-in-law Jerry Annis, Sr. and Mike McCue, Sr.; her parents James and Anna Branch; and her brothers Jack Branch and Bill Branch. She was born on April 8, 1921 in St Paul. She grew up in Cherokee Hts in West St Paul. She entered a beauty contest and was crowned "Miss Cherokee Heights" when she was 15 years old. As a child, she loved to spend time at her Maternal Grandparents Bucher Family Farm in North Ramsey County. Dode was raised in a very musical family and was an accomplished pianist. She also played the organ and sang in the choir of the Cherokee Heights Presbyterian Church. She and Emil had 9 children together. Their kitchen was always open to many St Paul children, friends and relatives. Dode had a great sense of humor and was always fun to be around. She was a devout Catholic and loved to study the Bible and had many favorite passages. Her favorite things were playing the piano and organ, porcelain painting, taking walks, early mornings and golfing. She was on the Derham Hall High School Board, President of the St Thomas Academy Mother's Club, was active with the Sisters of St Joseph of Carondolet, Cenacle Retreat House, Home of the Good Shepherd, Nativity parish and Jaycees and often accompanied on piano in their musical shows. She also modeled in style show luncheons for various charities, and service organizations. Special thanks and gratitude to the loving devoted care received by the staff at Waverly Gardens, and by Dr Jim Giefer. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at The Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (324 S. Prior Ave. St. Paul). Visitation will be one hour prior to service with a private burial at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by O'Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home (575 S. Snelling 651-698-0796). Memorials to Little Sisters of the Poor or Waverly Gardens.
