Dear Katie and Mary and all your family. We are so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. It was so nice that we got to meet him at Assumption; he always seemed so nice. My dad just died March 11th so I know somewhat how you feel Mary. Love, Gail and Dick Okeson

I met Bill on a Cursillo in February of 1979. I had the good fortune of seeing him often through many events. My life was blest every time I was with him. His joy in the face of struggles and his passion to help inspired me. I will miss him. Kevin

Dear Orme Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I only knew your dad in passing (through the line at Knowlan's). But spend any time with any member of the Orme family, and you know he must have been a special man and special father. Again, my sincere condolences.

I couldn't have wished for a better dad. You are the best coach, teacher and parent any child could hope for. Thank you for always being fair when you listened to my side of the story.Thank you for always being compassionate when I was irrational. Thank you for always being strong when I know you didn't want to be strong.I hope I become as graceful an example for my family that you and mom have been for ours. I love you very much.

Dear Carol, Mark, and all the Orme family members: My deepest sympathies to you all. I cannot be at the wake or funeral but wanted to tell you how much I am thinking about you. As I read over your father's guest book, all I can think is what a remarkable man he was, and how happy I am that such a man had a wife and seven kids with whom to share his wisdom and love. A friend wrote that he sensed your father didn't devote much time to worrying, and reading that brings me a sense of peace, and a vow to be more like that. I met your father briefly, a few times, over the 35 years I've known Carol, and I got a sense that there was goodness in him, through and through. Now heaven really is the place to be...although it's sad that folks like your father can't be here on earth with us as long as we are. Love, Catherine Condon Gudio

Patty, Maria and Orme family-
My sincere condolences.
I didn't know Bill but from Patty's stories - especially about how he took care of Katie - he must have been a very special man.
Your memories will keep him alive in your hearts.

I knew Bill Orme since my childhood, and I am proud to say he was a hero of mine. Bill was a decent, honorable, kindhearted, fun-loving, humble man. He was a gifted and highly regarded attorney. He did not judge others; rather, he believed in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. Bill was never too busy to lend an ear, and he was an excellent listener and problem solver. He believed in the value of work, and provided inspiration in that he worked well beyond the traditional age of retirement. I am a real estate broker, and much of what I know about the finer points of real estate contract law I learned from Bill, an expert, who was willing to teach me early in my career. After my career was launched, Bill built my self esteem and gave me confidence each of the many times he referred a client my way. It was an honor to have his trust, which I have always appreciated. I sense Bill did not devote a lot of energy to worrying. What an enviable trait. Especially to worrying about matters he perceived as beyond his control. There was an admirable sense of peace about Bill. Although I recall his desk at his office downtown; generally, it looked as though there had been an explosion on the surface! Not sure what that was about! Bill and Katie raised seven remarkable children. Sarah is one of my oldest and dearest friends (even though she and Mark had the audacity to move their family to Ohio). "How are you, Bill?" "Peachy, Bob; how are you?" "I'm peachy, too." Now we have a bright new star shining in the heavens over St. Paul. I send my love to all the Ormes, along with my warmest wishes for peace and comfort in the days ahead. How blessed we all are to have had Bill in our lives.
