Long-Time Resident of Mendota Heights Passed Away July 8, 2013 at age 70 Born in Chisholm, MN to wonderful parents, Bill & Edna (nee Martin) Olson who dedicated themselves to their children. His uncle Jean Martin taught him to swim, hunt & enjoy the soul of nature. Chisholm was filled with wonderful people who helped & taught him in his growth period. Bill graduated from Chisholm High School where he was a Merit Scholar, an Eagle Scout & achieved many other academic awards. He graduated from the U of M with a B.S. in Chemistry & Microbiology. He later earned his MPH in Environmental Health from the U of M and a Law degree from Hamline University. Bill worked as a research chemist at EcoLab for 8 years and then as an attorney for the St. Paul Companies (Travelers) and Northland Insurance. His largest accomplishment however was his family, especially his daughter and his grandson. He was also very proud of having asked Alicia to marry him on their first date. Bill is survived by Alicia, his wife of 43 years; daughter Evey (Kevin) Wellman; grandson, Cody William Wellman; brother, Robert (Sue) Olson of WBL; sisters, Renee Olson of Chisholm & Melanie (Paul) Sterns of Hibbing; nephews, Robert & Michael Sterns of Hibbing; and many other relatives & friends. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30AM, Friday, July 12th at the CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 1405 Sibley Mem'l Hwy., Mendota. Visitation 4-8PM Thursday, July 11th at J.S. KLECATSKY & SONS FUNERAL HOME (651-454-9488), 1580 Century Pt. (Yankee Doodle @ Coachman), Eagan and also 1½ hours prior to the Mass at the church on Friday. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Memorials preferred to the Mayo Clinic Melanoma Research Fund; 200 S.W. 1st St.; Dept. of Development; Rochester, MN 55905.
