William Argalus (Bill) PECK

Obituary Condolences

Age 98, of St. Paul Passed away July 11, 2013 Bill was born Feb 2, 1915 in Minot, ND, graduated from St. Paul Central High School and from the Universtiy of Minnesota, Dept. of Horticulture in 1940. He served in the US Army, 854th EAB, from 1942-1945, was stationed on Amchitka in the Aleutian Is, and awarded 2 Bronze Stars. Following discharge he established Peck Landscaping and worked as a landscape architect well into his 80's. His eye for color and design can be found today on many properties of the homes and businesses he landscaped throughout south Minneapolis and Edina. He had a beautiful tenor voice and was known by many for the poplular romantic songs he sang at various restaurants in the Twin Cities. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline (McAlpine) and is survived by his children, Margot (Bjorn Monson) of St. Paul, Wanda Iaeger of Apple Valley, and Bradley Peck of Richfield; grandchildren, Amy Williams, Bjorn Monson II, William Iaeger, Lindsey Caraway, and Justin Peck; great grandchildren, Rachel, Benjamin, Lucas, Grace and Asher. Memorial service Tuesday Sept 10 at 10:30 AM (visitation at 9:30 AM) at GRACE UNIVERSITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 324 Harvard St. SE, Minneapolis. Memorials preferred to Cerenity Care Senior Foundation, 512 Humboldt Ave. St. Paul, MN 55107.
