Vahey TATEOSIAN Obituary
Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather Died October 1, 2013, in Roseville, MN. He was 80. Vahey was born the son of Armenian immigrants on January 1, 1933 in Lawrence, MA to Krikor and Nazly. The young family moved to St. Paul in the 1940s. He attended Monroe High School, and became an Eagle Scout. He entered the Army in 1953 and served two years in Germany. He spent his career at Burlington Northern Railroad as an accountant and accounting manager. After retiring from the railroad, he worked part-time at the 3M Club where he pursued some of his favorite pastimes, working on lawns and repairing equipment and machines. He enjoyed volleyball, softball, and was a long time and avid racquetball player. He enjoyed spending his weekends in the garage tinkering, repairing lawnmowers, snow blowers, and an occasional motorized bicycle. Vahey is survived by his wife Betty (Stevenson); children Mark (Martha), Phillip (Teresa), Ann Tucker (Brian), and Steven; and brother Louis (Sarah). He was the proud and active grandfather to six granddaughters and three grandsons. He was preceded in death by his sister Arpine and brother George. A funeral service will be held at Fort Snelling Cemetery in St. Paul at 10:30 AM on October 15th, followed by a gathering for family and friends at Johanna Shores (Presbyterian Homes) in Arden Hills.
