Rev.  Bernard A.G. PEDERSEN Obituary
Age 67 ~ Of Woodbury Passed away January 5, 2014 Eldest son of George and Ruth Pedersen, born March 1st, 1946 in Chippewa Falls, Wis. along with twin brother. Completed undergraduate degrees at the University of Minnesota, and served in U.S. Air Force (1966-1970). Married Judith Ann (nee Stinson) on September 4th, 1971. He was a member of the Twin Cities Catholic Chorale, the Schola Cantorum of St. Agnes Catholic Church, and was ordained to the Diaconate of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis on September 26, 1992 at the Cathedral of St. Paul. He served in ministry at St. Agnes Catholic Church, St. Paul, MN and at the Marian Center in St. Paul. He earned his graduate degree in Theology at the University of St. Thomas. Bernard retired from the U.S. Civil Service after 31 years and then taught at St. Agnes High School, St. Paul for seven years prior to full retirement. Predeceased by parents and four infant grandchildren, Kathryn Martinez, Gabriel Halverson, Rafael Halverson, and Baby Martinez. Survived by wife Judith Ann, daughter: RuthAnne Elizabeth (Matthew) Halverson, sons: Rev. Fr. Bryan Joseph Bernard, and Karl Kristian (Angela), daughter: Ellen Marie (Rudy) Martinez and three grandchildren: Lucy Agnes Pedersen, Alexander Valentine Martinez, and Gianna Ruth Halverson; and step-grandson: Christian M. Halverson. Other survivors include brothers: Bertram L. Peterson (Beth) and Valern G. Peterson, sisters: Darla E. Beale (Thomas), Sharon R. Lindner (Allen), and Cinda J. Peterson; and several nieces and nephews and many other friends. Wake to be held at the Church of St. Agnes, 535 Thomas Avenue, St. Paul, MN on January 10th, 2014 with reception of the body in the Upper Church at 6:00 p.m. followed by Vespers for the Office of the Dead. Visitation to be held following Vespers in Schuler Hall from approximately 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. with concluding prayer vigil in English. Traditional Solemn Requiem Mass of Christian Burial to be held on January 11th, 2014 also at the Church of St. Agnes at 11:00 a.m. with Gregorian Chant and the music of Mozart's Requiem. Reviewal will be held on the morning of the funeral beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the funeral begins. Interment to be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota, Heights following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Church of St. Agnes or the Twin Cities Catholic Chorale. Gearty-Delmore 763-537-4511
