Obituary Condolences

Age 88, Of Lindstrom Formerly of Minneapolis died peacefully at home on January 25th, surrounded by his beloved and loving family. Preceded in death by parents Elizabeth and John, brother John, sisters Rose and Marie, and, in 1961, infant daughter, Mary. Survived by the numerous loves of his life: wife of 64 years, Doris, sons Paul (Nancy), Jeff (Mary), Mark (Kathy), Todd (Nancy), and daughter Laura Maus (Marc), and grandchildren Matthew, Elaine, Kevin, Lauren, Thomas, and Christopher. A member of the Greatest Generation, Joe served in the Navy during the WWII years from 1943-1946 and again during the Korean War years from 1950-1952. He was in many ways the Universal Man. An Electrical Engineer (U of Minnesota, 1956), his 31 years as a Honeywell aerospace engineer spanned the space program achievements from the Athena missile through and beyond the moon landing. He was also a gifted professional musician, amateur magician, neighborhood "go-to" person for advice when appliances broke down, builder of beautiful watercraft, perennial emcee at countless retirement parties of Honeywell colleagues, and above all other talents, the wise and patient counsellor of and role model for his family. He had the priceless gift of instilling strong values in his sons and daughter, not alone by occasional verbal reminders, but more importantly, by living those values each day of his life. He will be greatly missed in all of his roles, but most especially in that of devoted and loving husband and father. It is in that role that he leaves us a unique and unforgettable legacy. Special thanks to the invaluable assistance of the compassionate Wyoming Fairview Home Health Care and Hospice personnel. Words fail us in expressing our deep appreciation for your kindness and competence. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 8th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Bridget of Sweden Church, Lindstrom, Mn. Visitation at the church one hour before the service. Interment with military honors at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials Suggested to: of Minnesota/North Dakota, 7900 West 78th Street, Suite 100, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55439, or to a charity of donor's choice. Arrg.
