Cyndy and Family,
There was only one Andy. It is very hard to accept he will not be on the other end of that last minute call saying, sure I will help just tell me where to meet. I think the poor man ate a lot of unplanned lunches. Gosh, he will be missed. When the rain came down tonight I pictured him on Madeline Island. As the wildflowers come up in the spring I will think of the many projects he worked on still growing. From one Irish friend to another, thank-you Andy.

I was so sorry to hear of Andy's passing. I worked with him on political campaigns and spent plenty of times meeting with him at Bread and Chocolate discussing politics and mutual friends. My best wishes to your family. I enjoyed knowing him.

Dear Cyndy, Andy could not have been what he was without you. The two of you have distinguished records in the fight for a progressive future. Everyone thanks both of you for being the people you are and making the great contributions that you have. Henry Langberg from Detroit sends his condolences too.

My deepest sympathies at the loss of your dear husband. I hope you will find consolation in your gardening and your time helping others with gardening issues. These things have helped me a great deal. Sincerely, Eileen

Andy was rarely satisfied with the status quo. He almost always was asking why we were't doing something to make things better. Andy contributed generously of his time and talents to pushing us all along toward making St. Paul and Minnesota a better place.

Andy had passion and cared deeply about his community. For his family and close friends his passing is very sad. We owe it to him to add just a little of his passion to our lives.

Dear Cyndy and the family -- let me add my deepest condolences on Andy's passing. He and I compared Native and Irish culture over many conversations and we were happy to see the similarities. Death is a journey of many steps, the first of which, leaving this world is the end and the beginning. I wish all the family comfort in the days ahead. Thank you for sharing such a talented and wonderful person with the world.

What a great character Andy was! The Twin Cities is definitely a poorer place without him. He cared strongly about all people and the ways to make life better for them, i.e., political action. He will be missed!
