Mary was a very close friend while we were going to St. Paul TVI in 1970 and 1971. We had a great relationship and when she graduated from TVI she was taking care of an older Gentleman who was ill but had no family that could be his care giver and Mary took the job. She told me he put her in his will to pay for her helping him. She was very tender and loving to people who needed her help. I don't know if that actually happened but I do know that Mary had many things happen in her life that neither of us ever expected. She started going to school after the Gentleman died, and I also went back to school for Engineering. We fell further and further apart due to the need to work O.T. and we didn't have much free time. I missed Mary most of my life and I wish I had known about her funeral and wake as I would have been there. She was a wonderful friend and somebody I wanted to do things with. Knowing where I can visit her and talk to her would be nice. We were once in Love and I will miss being able to talk to to her when I needed to. We fell out of touch and I started looking for her when I moved to West St. Paul, after being my mother's caregiver until she died. I wish I had been able to find her before she left us and home to Jesus!

Mary Jane was an amazing woman, activist, advocate, animal lover and artist. She was always trying to help those who were being unjustly accused or screwed over by the system. She was a great person, and she will be missed.

I only knew Mary Jane for a short time, but what I knew about her I liked. She was a very caring woman who always wanted to help those who needed assistance. She was especially good at helping people who were getting screwed over by the legal system, and she was very good at it. She should have been a judge or a lawyer, because she seemed to have a natural ability when it came to legal matters. She loved animals and even though I never got to meet her, I talked to her on the phone and she was very helpful to me regarding my legal matters. She was a friend of a friend, and I've heard many good things about her. I was saddened to hear of her unexpected death. She was a great woman, and she will be missed by many. I regret that I did not get to meet her in person.

I am very sad to hear about Mary Jane Duchene's passing she was a long time friend of mine, we met at an International psychic fair back in the 1980's and I loved her sense of humor so we became friends every since that day.
Marvin Gotlieb and Jenny, Gary Grove and Kevin were all mutual friends we often went out to dinner to for fun and just to be social together.
I will miss her but now her heart and soul will be at peace.
Bless her for all the good she did in this world, Robert MacDougall

I am very saddened to hear of MariJayn's death on August 25, 2015. MariJayn had a mutual friendship of a very close friend, Marvin Gotlieb and the three of us used to get together for meals and lots of good conversations over the years. I lived quite a distance from MariJayn's home in West St. Paul, but we kept up our friendship talking on the phone every few days. I am wondering what will happen to her precious animals. Ginny B. My parents introduced us while she worked as a cashier at a Wst. St Paul supermarket. We dated during the time she attended the Minneapolis Institute of Art School. An excentric, vivacious, but talented artist. An activist and advocate for numerous issues. I'm saddened at her passing. She will be missed by all who knew her.
