My condolences, Eileen, to you and your family. I recall what a fine time we had at the Hamline class of 1962 reunion dinner several years ago when I sat next to George and he, you and I had a good chat. Love, Bill Archerd

I worked with George at Henry Sibley for many years. He took me under his wing as a new teacher and I learned a great deal from him about how to treat students and colleagues. He was easy to talk to about anything personal or professional and I will always remember that about him. I hope the memories of him bring you peace and happiness.

I am saddened to hear of his passing. My best wishes to the family. George was a kind soul who was always there to help any teacher or student at Henry Sibley who needed a good word or advice. I was lucky to work with him for many years.

Dear Eileen and family,
We are saddened to learn of George's passing and will always remember him for the wonderful man he was and whose passion was to assist the students of Sibley High School. Our three sons all benefitted from his counseling advice. Everyone knew him as the counselor extraordinaire! When the counsellors were designated to cover only certain students - last names beginning with a certain letter of the alphabet - and George had something like P through Z and I told him that one of our sons only wanted to meet with him he said, " Well H is between P and Z...I'll just call him down to my office." George had such an easy way about him and an easy way to solve the problem or concern; at least he made it seem easy. So many Henry Sibley student are better off today because of the guidance of George Wilkie. May God's blessings surround you during this difficult time and may your wonderful memories of your husband, father, grandfather remain in your hearts forever.
With our sympathy,
Kitty and Jim Haight

Sorry to hear of Mr. Wilke's passing. I had the utmost respect for this man as a counselor at Henry Sibley High School. We had four children that were fortunate to have Mr. Wilke as their counselor. My sympathy to the family as they journey through their loss.

When Mr. Wilke and my Dad, George Lowe, would get together, there was always laughter. He always had a friendly "Hello" in the halls of Henry Sibley. I am sorry for your loss. May the memories of the past lift your spirits!
