Nick Robert Cruz-Blue, age 46, of Duchesne, passed away April 25, 2012, at the Uintah Basin Medical Center from complications of a long illness.
He was born Aug. 17, 1965, to Linda Parry and David Cruz. He was raised by his step-father, Gary Blue. He graduated from Bingham High School in South Jordan where he played the trumpet in band. He married Donna Lynn Farikoff on Aug. 15, 1997, in West Bountiful.
Nick graduated from Salt Lake Community College as an electrician and worked many years in the commercial construction industry. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and camping, which was encouraged by two of his step-dad's friends, Doug Bradshaw and Doug Warren, whom he became very close to. He was very involved with Alcoholics Anonymous, serving as their president for a period of time. He had a great sense of humor and took great joy in teasing his nieces and nephews and playing jokes on everyone.
He was very loved and will be deeply missed.
Nick is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Christian (Kira) Brunson; daughter, Shaylyn Brunson, all of Duchesne; grandchildren, Kaybree Lynn Mariah Brunson, Austin Paul Grant, and Ashlyn Beverly Bryant; parents, Linda (Gary) Blue, Fruitland; David (Edith) Cruz, Minn.; step-mother, Taline Dansie, Calif.; sister, Stormi Blue, Taylorsville; sister-in-law, Cindy Webster, Minn.; step-grandparents George and Teddy Lewis, Bountiful; nieces and nephews, Mindy Cruz Fastner, Brittany Cruz, Michael Cruz, Mayson Liebmann, Anna Liebmann, and Brandon Blue.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Michael David and Sonny Cruz; grandmother, Winona Parry; step-grandfather, Harlan Blue.
Funeral services were held at April 28 at the Hullinger Mortuary, 457 East 300 North, Roosevelt.
