Joy Brittingham

Joy Brittingham Aug 10, 1933- Jan 15, 2013 passed away peacefully at her home in Reno surrounded by her family. Joy was born in Omaha, Nebraska moving to Santa Rosa at a young age. She married Don Brittingham and they raised 4 daughters in Ukiah. After her daughters were grown Joy worked at UVAH in Ukiah for many years. After retiring in Reno she became a dedicated volunteer for the Democratic Party. She also took great pride in creating beautiful quilts for family and friends. She always gave so much without expecting anything in return. She was preceded in death by her second husband; Robert "Bob" Behrens with whom she spent 35 years and her daughter, Joanna Brooks of Ukiah. She is survived by daughter Karen Brittingham of Incline Village, NV; her son Ryan Jenkins (Kristen) and their son, Raylen of Colfax, CA.; daughter Mary Brittingham and her sons Lane and Andrew Sundquist of Eureka, CA; daughter Paula Brittingham of Reno, NV and her sons David Evans of Reno, NV and Daniel Evans (Liz) and their son Aiden of Pensacola, FL.; grand-daughters Rachel Carlsson (Jeff) and their son Tyler of Reno, NV and Jessica Brooks of Quincy, CA and long-time family friend J. Holden, PhD of Lakeport, CA. She was loved and cherished by her many friends and family and will be greatly missed. The family is planning a private memorial this spring in Ukiah.
