David Lockart Obituary

David Lockart died unexpectedly Sunday April 26th, 2009. Dave was born in San Francisco on July 18, 1954. He spent all of his childhood in Ukiah. He was a member of the Sherwood Valley Band of Pomo Indians.

David was preceded in death by his mother Gloria Lockart. He leaves behind wife, Christine Williamson, his brother Dan Lockart and wife, Leveda, his sister Sheri Bowlus of Martinez, nephew James Lockart, niece, Adrienne Thompson, and husband Troy of Ukiah, Aunt Donna Schuler and husband Ronnie, Aunt Leola Wright and husband Clarence, along with numerous cousins and, his two dogs, Patti and Tas and his three cats, Aahni, Kitz and Docquaz. Remembered by many life-long friends. As his favorite cousin, Jeanette said "Dave was a real presence, personality, and inspiration to us all. I just couldn't wait to hear him talk."

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Sonoma State and graduated with an MBA from Humboldt State. He worked as an administrator for tribes such as Cahuilla, Chukchansi, Samish, Skokomish and Pomo. He loved learning and research and was always working on his future achievements.

Friends and family welcome for a celebration of life at 970 Orr Springs Road on Sunday May 3, 2009. The event will begin at 11:00 until it ends.

All donations will be given to the Indian Senior Center in Ukiah. 425 N. State St., Ukiah CA 95482

To The Family of Mr. Lockart... Your loss is felt in the Community, Pick up where he left off in the work he offered during his life. Honor him this way. Do not use his passing as a way to ruin your life. Keep his memory in a Spiritual Path and show others what he taught you....
