After retirement in 1985 they moved to Mendocino County, to be close to their son, and live on a ranch size property that reminded them of John's families homestead. John's mother, Alice Johnson, was born in Mendocino County in 1889. Shirley enjoyed cooking, reading, nature, her wild deer, her dogs, and sitting on the porch eager to speak with all! A remembrance service is being held at the United Methodist Church on Main Street, in Potter Valley, Saturday October 13th at 2pm. All are invited. God bless all.
