William "Bill" Cabezut passed away peacefully at home in Ukiah,CA. on 10-26-13, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 90 years old. Bill "Cap" was born 1-9-1923 in Fresno, CA. He was the only sibling born in a hospital. He was predeceased by his parents Pearl McFarland and Simon Cabezut of Mariposa, CA. Also his brothers Joe Cabezut of Laytonville, CA , Simon Cabezut of Mariposa, CA and Nadine Cabezut (Waas) of Healdsburg, CA. and William I. Cabezut Jr. "Buck" his son. Bill went to school in Mariposa all the way through the 2nd year of high school. .He had to leave school to go to work in 1942. The principal gave him a letter of recommendation and stated he was a good "mechanic". He got a job in Yosemite Park on the snow removal crew until he landed a job as a pipe fitter in a shipyard from 5-20-42 to 12-12-42. He was then inducted into the Army. He was in the army from 1-6-43 to 12-25-5 where he was with the 456th Air Service Group in the European Theatre. He performed non professional surgical and medical duties, administered preoperative and postoperative care. He was loved by everyone that met him. He was so kind hearted and such a wonderful man. He is survived by his wife Freeda Cabezut of Ukiah, his daughters Vickie Jones of Mariposa, Sherry Hoey of Ukiah and his step children Harold Ford, Rita Goodman, Gail Hale. Grandchildren, Cheryl Johnson, Kenneth Ford , Mark Ford and David Ford of Ukiah, Rebekah May, Cosmos May of Mariposa, Tyler Hoey , and Sheila Fuller of Ukiah and many great grandchildren. A special "Thank you" to his wife Freeda for caring for him in his illness and to hospice for all their help. Per Bills request, there will be no funeral or graveside services. His interment was at the Ukiah Cemetery 11-4-2013. The family will have a celebration of his life in the spring/summer. So , all of you that have stories and pictures, get them together and we will share them next year. Donations can be made to Hospice of Ukiah in his name.
