UNION — Kathryn Ault Watts, 86, widow of William Robert "Bob" Watts, 106 Woodlawn Avenue, Union, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.

Mrs. Watts was born in New Tazewell, TN, Dec. 6, 1927, a daughter of the late Lawrence Carroll Ault and Irene Payne Ault. She was a graduate of Carson Newman College and was a retired educator at Union High School. Mrs. Watts was a musician, having taught piano in her home for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Bethany Sunday School Class. She also was a member of the Union Music Club, the D.A.R., the Union Study Club, Delta Kappa Gamma and was an avid bridge player.

The last surviving member of four children, she is survived by a daughter, Judith Watts Breckenridge and husband Dr. Rufus Breckenridge of Greeneville, TN; two sons, William Robert "Bill" Watts, Jr. and wife Kathy of Clinton Township, MI and James Kenneth Watts and wife Pam of Purcellville, VA; eight grandchildren, Kathryn Suzanne Breckenridge Tremaine and husband Dustin of Kingsport, TN, Mary Audra Breckenridge Butler and husband Scott of Luckey, OH, Caroline Irene Breckenridge Soper and husband Jason of Daniel Island, S.C., Judith Gentry Breckenridge of New Orleans, LA, Ethan James Watts; Abigail Grace Watts and Lauren Elizabeth Watts of Purcellville, VA and Samuel Baker Watts of Greenville, S.C.; five great-grandchildren, Jack Gentry Tremaine, Cole Robert Tremaine, Dominic Scott Butler, August Bryan Butler and Jacob Gardner Soper; numerous nieces and nephews including Mary Ault Cooper of Talledega, AL.

Mrs. Watts was predeceased by a son, Charles David Watts.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Mrs. Watts' care givers, "Her Girls:" Judy Guyton, Melinda Sorrow, Michelle Jones, Rhonda Tessler and Melinda Davis for their loving care of Mrs. Watts during her illness.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Chaplain Traci Bennett.

The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
