FOUNTAIN INN — James Lindsey Pressley, 79, husband of Juanita Davenport Pressley, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 30, 2014.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late James Henry and Alice Helen Allen Pressley. He was retired from Armstrong World Industrial after 30 years of service. Mr. Pressley was a member of Fountain Inn First Baptist Church and the Larry Wooten Sunday School Class. He had a God-given talent for music which he shared at church, nursing homes, and senior citizen gatherings. Mr. Pressley delivered Meals On Wheels for 15 years and volunteered at the Activity Center of Fountain Inn. He was a Mason and member of the Fountain Inn Lodge. He was a talented carpenter, was outgoing, and loved to have fun.

In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, Mr. Pressley is survived by a daughter, Thea Woodson (Eddie); two grandchildren, Chris Woodson (Ashley) of Union and Chad Woodson (Jennifer) of Dalton, GA; four great grandchildren, Calista, Avery, Kinsey, and Cooper Woodson; and a sister, Frances Babb (Leon) of Simpsonville.

He was predeceased by a son, James Barron Pressley; a sister, Mary Helen Roach; a half-brother, B.L. Pressley; and two half-sisters, Beulah and Evie Gregg.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Cannon Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at Cannon Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.

The family will be at the home.
