UNION — Mr. Manual Grady "Preach" Harris, 90, 208 Pasture Drive, Union, widower of Helen Bentley Harris, passed away, Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Harris was born in Union on July 29, 1924 a son of the late James Wallace Harris and Nan Gault Harris. He was formerly employed with Cone Mill — Carlisle Finishing Plant and was a Beef Farmer. Mr. Harris was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He was an avid race fan and enjoyed watching wrestling.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Jean H. Inman and husband Clarence "Bo" of Union; three sons, Verlyn "Buddy" Harris and wife Kathy of the home, Kenneth Wayne Harris and wife Cheri, and James Wallace Harris and special friend, Betty Jean Kirby, all of Union; two sisters, Ada Adams and Dorothy Morris, both of Union; 14 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Glen Ribelin and Rev. Carl Harris. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Randal Wright, Phillip Waddell, Josh Sinclair, Jimmy McKeown, Tommy Adams, and Jamison Moss. The following are asked to form the honorary escort, J.T. Adams, Jimmy McCormick, Ted Adams, Charles Adams, and Leland McKelvie. The Staff and Nurses of Gentiva Hospice are asked to sit in a group.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to the services at the church.

Mr. Harris will be carried to the home, 208 Pasture Drive, Union, at noon Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 where the family will also receive friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church 1622 Kelly Road, Union, SC 29379 or to Gentiva Hospice, 15 Brendan Way, Suite 100, Greenville, SC 29615.
