MANCHESTER - Beatrice "Bea" Nora McLaughlin, 83, of Manchester, died Nov. 11, 2012, at Mount Carmel Nursing Home, after a period of declining health.
Born in South Portland, Maine, on Nov. 27, 1928, she was the daughter of Martin and Catherine (Connelly) Flaherty. She resided in Manchester most of her life. She graduated from South Portland High School.
In her early years, she worked at Soule Glass Company, Portland, Maine. Until her retirement, she was a personal banker with Merchants Bank.
Bea was an active communicant of Saint Pius X Church for more than 40 years.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her family was the center of her life. She was proud of her Irish heritage and devoted to her Catholic faith. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as dancing and bowling.
She was married 31 years to Linwood E. McLaughlin. He died Dec. 18, 1985. She was also predeceased by her sister, Ann Leonard.
Family members include three sons, Michael McLaughlin and his wife, Kriss, of Chesapeake, Va., Daniel McLaughlin and his wife, Jennifer, of Torrance, Calif., and David McLaughlin and his wife, Lori, of Milton; her daughter, Judith Dugan and her husband, John, of Garland, Texas; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Bell of Auburn, Maine, and Agnes Biette of Export, Pa.; her brother, John Flaherty of Portland, Maine; several nieces and nephews.
services: Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union St., corner of Concord Street, Manchester.
The funeral will be held Friday with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Saint Pius X Church, Candia Road, Manchester.
Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
