RYE - Carl R. Burnap, 86, of Rye, passed away on Nov. 8, 2012.
He was born in Swampscott, Mass., on June 16, 1926, the son of Russell W. and Clara M. (Anderson) Burnap. Carl served in the U.S. Navy
on the LST 308 during World War II
in both European and Pacific theaters. He graduated from Keene, earning his teaching certificate in 1950. Carl taught industrial arts at Manchester Central High School from 1955 to 1988. He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture for family.
Carl is survived by three children, Pamela LeBlanc and her husband, Leo, of Manchester, Jeffrey Burnap and his wife, Elaine, of Auburn, and Lisa Foster and her husband, Leon, of Dawsonville, Ga.; six grandchildren, Melissa, Heather, Carrie, Andrew, Jason and Julie; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Mackenzie, Evan, Cole, Cora Lee, Trevor and Reid. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Catherine V. Burnap, in 2011.
services: Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, in Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., Manchester. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, in Rye Congregational Church, 580 Washington Road, Rye.
