GOFFSTOWN -- D. Dottie Allard, 86, a resident of the Hillsborough County Nursing Home and formerly of Calef Road, Manchester, died Jan. 10, 2011, at Catholic Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Eldorado, Ill., April 17, 1924, the youngest of six children of James and Zilpha (Shane) Lassater.
She was raised in Eldorado and graduated from Eldorado Township High School. She had resided in Manchester since 1948. She worked for many years at Waumbec Mills and after her retirement was employed at Velcro USA until 1989.
She loved to travel to Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and enjoyed the surf and sand at the ocean. She was known for her love of cooking and her healthy appetite. Above all else was her devotion and love of her family.
Family members include two daughters, Patricia Cote of South Easton, Mass., and Pamela McGuire of Manchester; numerous nieces and nephews.
IN HER LIFE: Family members also include a grandson, Charles Burke III of Florence, Ky. Her family extends their gratitude to Dr. Paula Leonard Schwartz for her dedicated care as well as the care given by the staff of Hillsborough County Home over the years and the staff of Catholic Medical Center in her final hours.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech Street, Manchester. The funeral will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Douglas Rickard will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
