Daniel Tuden Obituary
Mr. Tuden was born in Boston on Oct. 29, 1948, a son of the late Eugene Sr. and Olga (Woloschuk) Tuden. He served as president of Delta Chi Fraternity at UMass Amherst. In the 1970s, he served as president of the Salem teachers union and as a Boy Scout leader in the 1990s. Recently retired after 26 years with Elbit Systems of America (formerly Kollsman, Inc.), a defense systems electronics company, Dan had been a managing systems engineer and then department manager of the Proposal Center.
Mr. Tuden enjoyed hiking, jogging, softball, hockey, football, snow skiing and snowshoeing. He volunteered as a recreational soccer and Little League baseball coach. He was a communicant of St. Jude Parish, Londonderry, where he had served as a CCD teacher. He held other memberships in Planet Fitness, AARP, the Appalachian Mountain Club and UMass Alumni. He was an avid Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics fan. He was also an original member of the Londonderry Men's Rec. Softball League.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce M. (DeGelan) Tuden of Londonderry; his son, Mark Tuden and his wife, Kristen, of Stoughton, Mass.; and his daughter, Heather Tuden of Londonderry; five brothers, Eugene Tuden Jr. of Quincy, Mass., Stephen Tuden of Medford, Mass., Robert Tuden of Sarasota, Fla., John Tuden of Medford, Mass., and James Tuden of Dracut, Mass.; and two sisters, Kathryn Richerson of Sandwich, Mass., and Christine Neugebauer of Galveston, Texas; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

services: Calling hours will be held Monday, Nov. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mass General Hospital, Pappas Center for Neuro-Oncology, 55 Fruit St., Yawkey 9E, Boston, MA 02114.
